About Alpha Nodus
Just-in-time care.
Just-in-time exists in manufacturing, logistics and every other industry you can name, except healthcare, where patients wait weeks for something the building could do this afternoon.
Alpha Nodus is the company behind Gravity, the Agentic Operations System (AOS) for imaging. Founded in 2015 by Shamit Patel, with offices in Austin, Sunrise and Bengaluru, it builds the systems that make just-in-time care possible, starting in diagnostic imaging, where Gravity gets the order, completes the exam and gets it paid.
Why we exist
Six weeks for a scan, while a third of the capacity went unused.
Shamit Patel spent twenty years in wireless semiconductors, with exits to Intel and Qualcomm. Then someone very close to him needed a scan, and couldn't get one for six weeks.
In semiconductors, you measure a problem before you fix it. So we measured. Sensors in imaging centers found 60 to 65 percent utilization while patients waited. The machines weren't the constraint. The operation was.
We didn't know anything about imaging, so we asked a center to let us volunteer. We did every job in the building for a year: front desk, booking, intake, authorizations. Only then did we write a line of code.
Nobody starts a company because they’re happy. I hated most of that year, and I understood all of it. That’s where Gravity comes from.
What we do
What Alpha Nodus does
Alpha Nodus builds the systems that make just-in-time care possible. We started in diagnostic imaging, because that is where the delay is easiest to measure and the fix is easiest to prove, and we did every job on the front desk before we wrote a line of code.
Our mission Automate and accelerate every patient journey.
Gravity, from Alpha Nodus, is the Agentic Operations System (AOS) for imaging. It gets the order, completes the exam and gets it paid, as one system.
What is an AOS? →The idea
What just-in-time means in imaging
Manufacturing learned just-in-time from Toyota: work moves when it’s ready, not when someone gets to it, and a problem stops the line until it’s fixed. Imaging runs the other way. The order waits in a fax tray, the open slot waits for a patient, the claim waits for a denial, and the patient waits for all of it.
Just-in-time care means the work completes on its own and people handle the exceptions. Every order is digitized and booked, coverage and authorization are settled before the exam, and the signed report goes back to the referring provider the day it’s signed.
Information systems record the work. An AOS does the work.
Get the order.
No referral leaksWe don’t just run your orders. We go get them.
Complete the exam.
No order leaksFull schedules, without more schedulers.
Get paid.
No revenue leaksEvery exam you complete, you get paid for.
What we value
Three values, and what each one costs us
Hunger
We do the job before we automate it, and we are never done.
Before we wrote a line of code, we spent a year doing every job in an imaging center. Every engineer who joins still starts the same way: they sit and do the work an imaging center’s team does every day, then figure out how to automate it.
Innovation
We build what the work needs, not what the market already sells.
Reading a handwritten fax, holding a real phone conversation and working a payer portal with no interface are hard engineering problems, and they are why this work has always needed people. So we built a system that does the work: the Agentic Operations System (AOS).
Customer Success
Every employee owns the customer’s outcome.
Customer success is not a department for us; it is one of our three values. The engineer who builds a flow answers for whether it works at the customer’s front desk.
The team
Built by people who build hard things.
None of us came from healthcare software. All of us have done the jobs.

Questions about Alpha Nodus
What does Alpha Nodus do?
Alpha Nodus builds the systems that make just-in-time care possible. Its first system is Gravity, the Agentic Operations System (AOS) for imaging centers and radiology groups. Gravity gets the order, completes the exam and gets it paid, as one system.
Who founded Alpha Nodus?
Shamit Patel founded Alpha Nodus in 2015 and is its CEO. He spent twenty years in wireless semiconductors, with exits to Intel and Qualcomm, before someone very close to him had to wait six weeks for a scan. That wait led him to imaging.
Are Alpha Nodus and Gravity the same company?
Alpha Nodus is the company. Gravity is what it makes: the Agentic Operations System (AOS) for imaging.
How many imaging centers use Gravity?
More than 460 imaging centers across the US run on Gravity, the Agentic Operations System (AOS) for imaging built by Alpha Nodus. Together they run more than 5.7 million imaging orders a year through one system, from the referral to the payment.
Does Gravity read scans?
No. We don’t read the scan. We make sure it gets back. Radiologists read and sign the report; Gravity delivers the signed report and the images to the referring provider.
Where is Alpha Nodus based?
Alpha Nodus has offices in Sunrise, Florida; Austin, Texas; and Bengaluru, India, and works with more than 460 imaging centers across the US.
